Technicolor Rainbow
There's always a few things you can count on when you go up to the Uinta Mountains in Utah; you'll see a bunch of fish jumping in the lakes...and you'll never catch them, you'll see lots of wildlife...and the squirrels will try and steal your food, you'll love the daytime temperatures....and you'll freeze your arse off at night, and you'll always catch crazy airglow in your night photos....and have a hell of a time color-balancing them in post-processing. This one turned out a bit more "technicolor rainbow" than I normally go, but it's always fun to accent those beautiful greens and reds in the sky from that bright airglow. This time last year you couldn't even get up there, the first weekend of July they finally opened the pass and the snow was still taller than my truck. Amazing how things change year to year....except the things you can always count on. 18 exposures went into this image, stitched (no stacking) to make a pano, shot w/ my Nikon D800E and Sigma Art 50mm lens on a Sky Watcher Star Adventurer. 6 exposures each for the sky, foreground, and reflection, sky exposures were 3 mins at ISO 800 and f2.5, foreground exposures were 3 mins at ISO 1600 and f2, reflection exposures were 45 seconds at ISO 1600 and f1.4. All exposures taken back to back.
