Twilight Milky Way
It's been a while since I've done a twilight Milky Way shot, this weekend we got away to a central Utah location I had never been before and it turned out to be an incredible setting. Our second night we got very lucky as the afternoon thunderstorms gave way to crystal clear skies for a full night of shooting. As the dark skies gave way to the early morning twilight I quickly setup for one last composition with the core fading away into the blues. The vast canyon before us made for a perfect setting to watch the stars fade and the canyon walls light up with first bit of glow.
6 exposures for this image all shot with a Nikon D5300 and Sigma Art 18-35mm on a Sky Watcher Star Adventurer tracking mount. All shots are 1.5 minutes at ISO 400 and f2.8, tracked for the sky, untracked for the foreground, taken in quick succession with the rapidly changing light. A tough shot!
