Pretty Pettit Lake
Andy Jones and I got to shoot in the Pettit Lake area the night after we came down from Sawtooth Lake, an extremely beautiful setting with the ultra calm lake and absolutely RIDICULOUS airglow. Honestly I think this was the most challenging image I've ever had editing in terms of color balance and I've had some crazy airglow images in the past. Straight out of the camera the images were overwhelmingly green, took a lot of curves work to get the color back to a more normal look.
14 exposures for this one, 5 for the sky, 5 for the reflection and 4 for the foreground (I took the foreground in landscape orientation which allowed me to cover the whole area in 4). Sky exposures are 4 minutes at ISO 800 and f2.8, reflection exposures are 1.5 minutes at ISO 1600 and f1.8, foreground exposures are 3 minutes at ISO 1600 and f1.8.
