Cataract Gorge
Decided to explore the Duchesne River area of the Uintas, I had never been over to that side and wanted to check out the fishing as well as Cataract Gorge for Milky Way shots. The road in is pretty damn fun, a good test for the 4runner's 4x4 capabilities, that's for sure. I thought clouds were going to spoil the whole night, I shot the foreground first waiting for them to clear. Luckily there was just enough of a gap between cloud banks to grab the sky shots before the next bank rolled in. Lots of beautiful waterfalls in the area, made for a great foreground composition.
15 exposures for this one, 10 for the foreground, 5 for the sky, all taken with my D800E and Sigma Art 50mm on a Sky Watcher Star Adventurer tracking mount. All exposures were 3.5 minutes at ISO 800, f2.5 for the sky and f2 for the foreground.
