Slip sliding away

Ever seen/heard a MASSIVE rockslide at night? One of the more terrifying and awesome things I've experienced. I'm standing on this cliff taking the exposures for this image (complete darkness and very quiet) when I hear what sounds like subtle thunder, eventually the sound grows to what seemed like a dozen 747's flying directly overhead. I'm nearly pooping myself at this point, look to the mountain to the right (in this image) and the whole side of it looks like fireworks were going off, boulders banging into each other setting off very bright sparks/flashes. Behind me were the huge 1,200 foot cliffs of Bald Mountain echoing the sound of the slide back towards me. Whole thing lasted about 30 seconds, then back to complete silence, totally fucking crazy.
