Morning Glory

One of the most beautiful and colorful geysers in Yellowstone requires a bit of a walk, Morning Glory gives people a fantastic Milky Way alignment with incredible colors and good perspective, but the hike at night carrying a bunch of gear in somewhat dense trees can be a bit unnerving. Bry and I managed just fine though and were rewarded for the work with some awesome shots of the geyser with low amounts of steam. The horizon trees make the blending difficult with even minor amounts of steam, the steam enhances aberrations and makes a good foreground selection less accurate and tough to execute. I also managed a nice time lapse of the geyser with the Milky Way setting behind it, be sure to head over to our Youtube channel to check that out: youtu.be/bFqLwHZNKTg 4 exposures went into this image, shot with a Nikon Z7 and Nikkor 20mmS on a Sky Watcher Star Adventurer Tracking Mount. Sky exposures are 4 minutes at ISO 800 and f2.8, foreground exposures are 2 minutes at ISO 800 and f1.8.
